The only known photo of Albert Einstein without his mustache. Taken in 1957 only a year before his death, the radiation from the Manhattan Project had taken its toll and thinned his once wild hair, and eradicated his facial hair to the point he no longer felt comfortable with a “weak” mustache. We all know the iconic Einstein look, but this is how he appeared when he departed the world, shot in January 1958 by Valerie Solanas in an pointless attempt to impress actress Jodie Foster.
